"Work with the hands is the apprenticeship of honesty.
May the work of your hands be a sign of gratitude
and reverence to the Human condition."

- Mahatma Gandhi.

What happens in a lesson?

Lessons are a guided experience in improving our well-being, with the foundation of returning to good use and co-ordination of our body.

This is achieved through the application of verbal communicaton and the use of hands to guide the body.

Rather than following a fixed pattern, lessons are designed to adapt and flow, responding to the needs of the individual and the evolution of those needs as treatment progresses. We might sit, walk or simply stand, exploring the many forms in which the body can move and rest, or perhaps the student will be lying down at floor level or on a couch, allowing relaxation and grounding of the body.

With my hands I help enhance muscle tone which, together with verbal instruction, helps release unnecessary tension. This produces a new sensory experience, encouraging the postural reflexes to work again.

As the student allows poise and balance to re-emerge, he or she will notice the change as one of lightness and ease, a greater freedom of movement and an enhanced sense of well-being.
